Internet Explorer - Useless?

[nodeinfo|24|body|0.07664900 1195059911][inline_autoadd][image=1]I have been getting several reports about issues with my new logo when viewed from Internet Explorer. For those of you that are using IE, I apologize for the appearance, and I am working on a fix. This issue we face is simple. IE does not support transparent images correctly. This means that any of my images that have a transparent background are given one by IE. Talk about an easy way to destroy my artwork!

For those who are unfamiliar with the defects presented in IE, we will go over several of them now.

  • Non-support of transparent images
  • Does not conform to the CSS2 standards
  • Has major security issues

Now, while I tend to bash IE, please note that IE7 has made some huge advances - at least for an IE browser.
Don't get me wrong, no browser is perfect, but Microsoft seems to turn their cheek to issues involving standards support. The transparent PNG issue has been around since version 5.5! Luckily, IE7 resolved the transparency problem. However, many people do not use the new IE, and still run IE6. This puts webmasters and designers in the position of finding ways around the flaws of IE to make their site look presentable.

As I mentioned, I am actively working on a fix for the website logo. If anyone has any ideas on this issue, let me know.

In the meantime, how about some linkage to other IE issues:
